Disco Stars Live At Budokan

Between 1977 and 1980 Chic produced some of the most successful and memorable music of the disco era. Their sublime blend of soul, funk and disco took a genre not best remembered for musical innovation and longevity to new heights. The group's creative nucleus was always the writer/musician partnership of Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards, both of whom made names for themselves as producers for the likes of David Bowie and Madonna.

Recorded in April 1996 at Tokyo's prestigious Budokan Theatre, this was to be the group's last performance, since Bernard Edwards died shortly afterwards. The group is joined by Sister Sledge for that group's two massive hits, "He's The Greatest Dancer" and "We Are Family", both of which were written and produced by Rodgers and Edwards. Stevie Winwood and Guns 'n' Roses guitarist Slash both guest on the Jimi Hendrix number, "Stone Free".

Boasting top quality sound quality, the concert features superb, extended versions of their greatest hits, including "Le Freak", "Dance, Dance, Dance", "I Want Your Love" and "Good Times".
