Daevid Allen has been a highly-respected figure in progressive music circles for over forty years.

On Divided Alien Allen used the then embryonic sampling and video technology resulting in this discordant, experimental set of layered tape-looping and Allen's sung/spoken poetry and unique guitar solos.

 

Also featured are contributions from several of New York’s progressive rock scene of the time; Bill Laswell (bass), Michael Brainhorn (synthesizer), Fred Maher (drums) and Bill Bacon (drums & percussion).

This reissue includes four hard to find bonus tracks, recordings Allen made in Jamaica in 1978 and which were released as a 12 inch EP entitled ‘Alien In New York’.

Attractive digipak packaging reproduces the original album’s striking artwork, credits and sleeve notes, in addition to a new authoritative commentary on the recordings.
