Historic recordings for Indiana’s Steeltown label, recorded a year prior to the group’s signing to Motown.

In the year prior to their signing to Tamla Motown and notching up a string of worldwide hits with the label, The Jackson Five made their first recordings for the tiny Indiana-based Steeltown label.

With the 10-year-old prodigy Michael on lead vocals, these first recordings comprised a mixture of original titles such as 'Big Boy' and 'Michael The Lover' along with versions of several soul standards such as 'The Tracks Of My Tears' and 'My Girl'.For this CD re-issue, these original low-fi recordings have been digitally re-mastered at one of L.A.'s most prestigious studios.

The historic importance of these recordings certainly outweighs their sonic limitations and make them essential listening for all fans of the group and Michael Jackson.
